We Are All Shallow

We live in a SHALLOW world where everything is judged by its cover not its content. A part of me can't entirely blame those who do for the fact that that is what you are confronted with when you interact with others. Its the package that you see not the substance. With people's attention span just as long as a commercial these days, I'd have to say those who have the right package have the scales tipped in their favor.

Yes. Its not wanting what you don't have but wanting what you have that's the key in surviving this superficial world of ours. I just hate it when there you are trying to make lemonades out of the lemons that you were dealt with and people just have to grab a glass and throw the contents in in your face. And though I can wipe my face and dry my clothes and seemingly bring my self back to how I used to look, the damage has been done. I'm already stained, scarred, marred and ruined. It will never be me again. I may look the same but I'm different. I am changed. Pretty much like a pond after a stone has been thrown into it. The ripples will vanish. The waters will again be placid and tranquil. To the eye, the lake is the same lake; unchanged and the still the same. But it is not. It has changed. It is different. For another stone lies at the bottom.
